What a great summary, informal and easy to read. I learned a lot. Thanks!

Okay, I’ll admit that I actually read the article a while ago and may have forgotten if my question is answered in there.
Do Mormons/LDS get to/have to sing in church?
I ask as midwesterner who isn’t allowed to sing anywhere else currently.
Rock on John!

Oh, yeah, there’s singing. Of course, unless you’re with the kids it’s more of the traditional congregation and choir hymn-singing. Sometimes I long for some good old gospel. That’s one thing I like about a lot of Southern churches. Sounds like you’re a singing man yourself? True? What kind of music do you guys sing?
Lately I can’t get enough of Chris Tomlin’s “Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)” and “The House of the Rising Sun” sung by Jerry Lawson & Talk of the Town on last year’s NBC Sing-Off. And as corny as it may sound, I started listening to “Deliver Us” from the soundtrack of Prince of Egypt again.
